Giniling Festival’s self-titled debut album was just launched last week and released under Terno Recordings. Since 2003, Giniling Festival has been making waves in the gig circuit for their kick ass performances and I was lucky that I was able to watch them. They are composed of: Anto Garcellano, Jebs Mangahas, Lec Cruz, Monpi Lopez and Dye Dye Santos (lead vocalist). My album choice cuts are Psycho, Siling Giniling, Mabuhay Lahat ng Single and Hari ng Metal. You should see them perform the Hari ng Metal. It has become an instant favorite among the audience upon seeing Dye Dye wear a plastic bag which will remind you of this certain foreign band.

i personally love siling giniling as well, but i also find it hard to ignore Holdap, Dodo and Barbero. Litaw na titaw yung influence ng system of a down sa Barbero.
Laugh trip din mga lyrics nila. Medyo grabe nga lang yung fascination nila sa word na “tae”, as it makes a repeated appearance on most songs. i also find the incessant and insistent background rapping on Sirang Plaka (”Inuulit lang ang rap na ito/inuulit lang ang rap na ito”) to be very witty and catchy.

Unang labas pa lang ng bandang to ayoko na sa kinila! Gaya gaya lang sila sa ibang mga patawang banda pero mas pina bastos lang nila ang lyrics. Wala silang kwenta.

ilang beses na din silang nagpalit ng mga myembro pero yung mga magagaling pa ang pinapalitan! yung kahit papano madadala yung banda! yung bahista na walang kwenta nandun pa din! puro bulok na ang natira!
