Barbie Rocks the Big Dome

So you’ll be expecting some clapping and cheering from the crowd in this album since this is a live recorded album (from her first solo major concert held last May 19, 2006) and not a studio-recorded one. The album consists of 15 tracks and it features the performances of Rocksteddy, Ney of 6cyclemind, Kitchie Nadal and Barbie’s Mom. The album was recently released under 12 Stone Records who also manages Barbie Almalbis. (more…)
Andrew E. is still very much alive in the local music industry and the proof of it is the release of his fourth album “Clean”. The album is released under Viva Records with 12 tracks of pure hiphop. The album includes a track featuring Katya Santos. The album also features Andrew E.’s collaboration with other artists such as KortaPluma, Yawzi, Khen Magat, DJ Coki, Mastamind, Pacman, Bilogg, Durogg, TopDogg, DaMobb, John Doe, Mike Lynch, etc. An interesting track here in Andrew E.’s album is the sequel to the original Humanap Ka ng Panget. And the title of the song is Ikaw.

Joaqui’s debut album, The Jazzanova Project was just released by Vicor which is the recording label’s response to the growing popularity of bossanova. Although the album is not purely bossanova, the 12 tracks are a combination of jazz and bossanova. And this is another album of covers. It would be nice if he has at least more than 6 original songs in the album. And Jazzanova is not really a genre, they just coined the term.
The Bloomfields just released their much awaited album under EMI Philippines. It consists of 17 tracks featuring their single “Wala Nang Iba”. However, only five out of the 17 tracks are original songs of the band. The rest are just remakes. I’m actually expecting that there will be remakes but I was thinking that there will be only five remakes at the most. All of the original hits by the band are composed by Jay Jay Lozano and Rocky Collado. Nevertheless, the album will be enjoyed for those who love the music from the 50’s and the 60’s. There is one remake that I was surprised to see in the track list and that’s Iskul Bukol
Indi Music, a new recording label of Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Cacai Velasquez-Mitra and husband, and Leo Dominguez, just released Dennis Trillo’s self-titled debut album. The album contains 12 tracks and one of the tracks included is a duet of songbird Regine Velasquez and Dennis Trillo. If you are observant, you may notice how the Filipino actress or actresses make career moves. Usually, at the peak of their acting career they would suddenly become an actor slash recording artist. If they will have a pretty good following as a recording artist, a concert or another album would be the next step.
