Sana Maulit Muli OST - Various Artists
Saturday, March 3rd, 2007
If there is one thing that my father and my sister agreed on what to watch on TV, it was Sana Maulit Muli. Sana Maulit Muli is a primetime soap opera produced by ABS-CBN and it has been said that it has a similar plot with the film If Only. Aside from my Dad and my sister, people around me was constantly talking about Poknat (Kim Chiu) and Bokbok (Gerald Anderson). I did not know that Silent Sanctuary’s Maalala mo Sana is part of the track list for this OST. I just discovered it when I was searching for newly released albums. Panky Trinidad’s (seen in Pinoy Dream Academy) fans should also get this album with her version of Time after Time. (more…)
Before, there was an acoustic uproar in the music scene and now, there is bossa nova spreading like flu. Certainly, Sitti Navarro was responsible for it. There was one time when I looked for Sitti’s first album (the studio recorded version) and I cannot find it. All that they have is the Sitti Live! I don’t buy live albums so the day ended with no CD in my hand. Thus, with the success of her previous albums, Warner Music released a Limited Edition of Cafe Bossa. Even though the contents of Cafe Bossa are all revivals, the bossa nova version of each of the 18 tracks are commendable. If you already have a copy of Cafe Bossa, I think that you should have waited for the release of the Limited Edition.
Giniling Festival’s self-titled debut album was just launched last week and released under Terno Recordings. Since 2003, Giniling Festival has been making waves in the gig circuit for their kick ass performances and I was lucky that I was able to watch them. They are composed of: Anto Garcellano, Jebs Mangahas, Lec Cruz, Monpi Lopez and Dye Dye Santos (lead vocalist). My album choice cuts are Psycho, Siling Giniling, Mabuhay Lahat ng Single and Hari ng Metal. You should see them perform the Hari ng Metal. It has become an instant favorite among the audience upon seeing Dye Dye wear a plastic bag which will remind you of this certain foreign band.
After the success of the albums of Light Peace Love and As the Music Plays, music stores are expected to be jammed up on February 23 with the much awaited release of their third album We Stand Alone Together. Featured in this album is Bamboo’s recent single Tatsulok which is an original of the group Buklod who’s known for their lyrics that’s relevant to the society that we live in.
