Anybody know of a good trio for two oboes and one bassoon?
I haven’t found one on the Texas UIL Prescribed Music List and I need a relatively difficult trio (Class 1) to submit for consideration. A piece for Oboe, English horn, and bassoon would be fine as well.
I’d recommend the trios for 2 oboes, bassoon and basso continuo by Czech Baroque composer Jan Dismas Zelenka. There are 6 in the collection, and they are absolutely brilliant, both to play and to listen to. There are some challenging moments in each of them, but they’re definitely worth it!
